Now that the nursery bedding for our future baby girl is complete, it was time for me to start on baby boy bedding.
Step 1: I made 64 of these plush little pillows
Step 2: I sewed 8 of the pillows together creating a row
Step 3: I sewed all the rows together and created a border.
McCall's Quilting was a great reference on how to make mitered boarders (for a beginner like me who needs visuals!)
Step 4: Add backing and binding
I added brown dotted minky for the back.
I can picture my sweet little boy wobbly walking over to this blankie and plopping down into the plushness of it all!

SO PROUD OF YOU!!!! Boy things!!! Woohoo!!! Now I need to see something sports-inspired. Maybe find some Cornhuskers fabric? Make him a football onesie!

NOOOOOOOO! There will be enough sports cra*, I mean stuff, around when he gets a bit older. The nursery is going to be bird themed and sports free! :)
ReplyDeleteLittle boys need their bats, balls, and trucks! I can't wait to see something Cornhusker...or even dirty rotten Yankees ;).
ReplyDeleteGood job of branching out into the world of blue!
Theresa, that is just un-American. There must be SOMETHING sports themed in a boy's room! Thank you for helping me know what to get you for your shower someday. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh this is just too adorable! I love it, thank you for sharing. I want to make one for my son now :)

AL,
ReplyDeleteEach pillow is filled with polly-fil. The top of the pillow is a 5 inch square and the bottom is 4 inch square. http://www.squidoo.com/biscuit_quilt explains it well. Hope that helps! :)
